Women's Health Physical Therapy
At the Midwest Center for Women’s HealthCare, we offer a comprehensive women’s health physical therapy program that is available to all our patients (at the recommendation of their physician or practitioner).
Our certified physical therapists have received graduate-level training in women’s health issues, and have structured our program to achieve the following objectives for our patients:
- Reduce and eliminate pain and paresthesia (sensation of numbness or tingling)
- Normalize pelvic asymmetry and postural alignment
- Regain normal strength, endurance, mobility, and confidence
- Decrease pain to maximize ability to carry out daily activities
- Comprehensive patient education
Common conditions treated by our women’s health physical therapists include:
- Pre and post partum weakness and/or pain
- Low back pain (both pregnancy-related and non pregnancy-related)
- Pelvic pain
- Pain/discomfort during intercourse and sexual activity
- Bladder control/incontinence (please see section on “Bladder Health and Control” in this website)
- Musculoskeletal pain in any body part
Our women’s health physical therapists use a “whole body” approach with their patients. They consider all aspects of health, treating not only the symptoms but the causes as well. The therapists of the Midwest Center for Women’s HealthCare strongly believe in educating every patient so she can have a pain-free life after therapy.
